2018 Miss Nebraska Competition Judges Announced

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 3, 2018

Five outstanding professionals have been announced as the judges for the 2018 Miss Nebraska Pageant, including a former Miss America semi-finalist, and leaders in broadcasting, philanthropy and performance.

Tina Foehlinger-Hansen served as Miss Nebraska 2001, named a Top 20 semi-finalist at the 2002 Miss America Pageant. A baton twirler for more than 35 years, Hansen won multiple world championships with Nebraska’s legendary studio, The Stepperettes. She is currently Development Director of Colorado Children’s Chorale and a volunteer with the Miss Colorado Outstanding Teen Pageant.

Peggy Miller is the Executive Director of the Miss Washington Scholarship Organization, a role she has held for 11 years. She has her husband Mike have been active volunteers at the state and local level for 17 years, and have mentored several young women who went on to become Finalists at the Miss America Pageant. A passionate volunteer, Peggy has dedicated her time to the Washington State Fair and her local food bank, in addition to other causes.

Josh Peterson is Co-Host of Unsportsmanlike Conduct, a top-rated sports radio show in Omaha. In his six years with 1620 The Zone, Peterson has secured interviews with some of the biggest names in Nebraska sports, drawing in listeners around the world to the daily broadcast. He is a University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate where he majored in Journalism.

Carol Craig Potter is the Vice Chairman to the Board of Directors for the Miss Texas Pageant, and has been a traveling companion for Miss Texas for the past 20 years. A former model and Miss Oklahoma contestant, she is currently a fashion stylist for Carlisle Collection. Potter has a BFA in ballet padagogy and an extensive background in ballroom dance, ballet, tap and jazz, as well as piano.

Jack Sheard is the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Grand Island Public Schools. He is the past chair of Hall County Leadership Tomorrow, serving on numerous philanthropic boards and volunteering with many community organizations, often advocating for youth and education. He is also active in community theatre, annually playing Scrooge in Grand Island Senior High’s production of A Christmas Carol.
