Miss Nebraska 2018 Jessica Shultis, is a Doane University graduate student, collegiate athlete, and Top 10 Miss America finalist. Shultis, a 25-year old Doane University graduate student from Dannebrog, Neb., was crowned Miss Nebraska in June 2018. Shultis was also awarded a Preliminary Evening Wear Award and the Overall Interview Award (tie). At the 2019 Miss America Competition, Shultis was named one of four Women in Business Award finalists, and finished in the Top 10, representing Nebraska on the live ABC telecast in front of more than 3.4 million viewers. Shultis has now earned an estimated $25,000 in cash scholarships while competing within the Miss America Organization, in addition to use of a car for her year of service and an estimated $18,000 in gifts, wardrobe and services.
Miss Nebraska Jessica Shultis is now traveling the state promoting her platform Hoops For Hope. Shultis, a cancer survivor, uses her background as a collegiate basketball player to hold camps advocating for confidence and health, while also raising money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Her parents are Wayne and Lauri Shultis of Dannebrog.
