Miss Nebraska Named Finalist For Miss America Women In Business Award

The Miss America Organization has announced Miss Nebraska Jessica Shultis as a finalist for the Miss America Women in Business Award. Miss America 2018 Cara Mund made the announcement live online August 24 in a video seen by more than 75,000 viewers. Click here to watch the announcement.

Shultis is one of four finalists for the award, presented to the Miss America candidate pursuing a career in the field of business. Two winners, named at the 2019 Miss America competition, will be awarded $5,000 thanks to the Miss America Foundation.

Shultis earned her Bachlor’s Degree at Doane University while playing collegiate basketball. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree at Doane, and plans to earn her Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Also named finalists along with Shultis are state representatives from Hawaii, Tennessee and South Dakota. Shultis interviewed for the award during a discussion with a judging panel in Atlantic City on August 30. Shultis then began preliminary competition for the title of Miss America 2019 on September 5; the final night and crowning of Miss America will air live on ABC on Sunday, September 9.
