Tooley, Fox voted Directors of Miss Nebraska Scholarship Program

Chris Tooley, longtime volunteer and Field Director of the Miss Nebraska Scholarship Program has been voted Co-Executive Director of the organization.  Tooley will join current Co-Executive Director, Megan Doughty to lead the organization, and act as advisor to Miss Nebraska in preparation for the Miss America competition and throughout her year of service. The two take over for Rachel Daly, who stepped down from the position last month to devote more time to her family and career.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to promote a program I am passionate about and bring 15 years of extensive experience to my new position,” said Tooley, who has traveled across the country as Field Director and a Miss America Organization volunteer to support local pageants at both the Miss and Teen levels. Tooley, an Alliance native currently living in Omaha, will continue to travel to North Platte and throughout the state for Miss Nebraska events.

The Board also voted Peggy Fox as Field Director and Vice President. Fox is an experienced volunteer with the Miss Nebraska and Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen programs. She recently served as both Secretary and Ticket Chair, and has been a key contributor to the program; she and her husband Mike, are event staples during the week of state competition, and in the months leading up to each year’s competition. As Field Director, she will now be the direct contact for local program directors, helping with paperwork, recruiting efforts, and formatting for each competition.

“I am happy to be working with local directors and contestants again,” said Fox. “Mike and I look forward to working in this area of the Miss Nebraska Organization.”

The Board also voted on several other changes and additions at its monthly meeting Tuesday in North Platte. Janet Heinzle was confirmed as President, and Ashley White was re-elected as Treasurer. Sky Seery, Program Book Chair, was re-elected to that role and also voted Secretary.

The Board also voted to add Michelle McCormick, Miss Nebraska 1990, as Judges Chair. McCormick will recruit industry professionals to serve on our state judging panel, as well as organize accomodations, gifts and scheduling for Miss Nebraska judges.

“Congratulations to all the newly elected board members to your new positions,” said Janet Heinzle, Miss Nebraska Scholarship Program President. “Truly, there is no way this board functions without the wholehearted cooperation and support from each and every member sitting on this board. I am extremely proud of the jobs and energy you provide to complete the Miss Nebraska program each year.”
